In order to push myself to another limit, I’ve decided to take the doctoral theory qualifying exam two days ago.
In two weeks, I’ll be driving for about 10 hours down to Richmond, Virginia for a workshop on April 11, drive back on April 13 and take the qualifying exam on April 14. I am actually pretty excited to work on Mozart 39, Brahms 1, Tchaikovsky 5, Appalachian Spring and Beethoven Missa Solemnis for the workshop, and for the first time, working with Maestro Gustav Meier.
It is pretty stressful at the moment to prepare all five pieces and the exam at the same time, but life is always filled with challenges along the road and it’s our job to learn to handle them.
So back to work!!!
